Our next few shows are going to take us beyond the Boston area to the places that we used to call home.
On Friday, October 4, we’ll be playing at the Cellar on Treadwell in Hamden, Connecticut — in the building that used to be known as The Space. I’m pretty sure the last time we played CT in the mid-aughts would have also been at the Space; I still have some audio recordings from that show on my computer! Our bassist Jake WM, who grew up down the street from the place, also played his first show with us there. (Technically he was “filling in” for our then-full-time bassist. But really, Jake has always been our actual bassist. It just took us a while to get the proximity right.)
Anyway, we’re excited to return to Jake and Thom’s hometown, for the first time either one of them has played there in nearly two decades. We’ll be joined by our friend, the great punk rock troubadour Christian Marrone and another local folk-punk singer named Bobby Dyckman (no relation to Walker)(we think).
Then the next day, we’ll be heading up to Chris’s home turf of Middletown, Rhode Island, where we’ll be kicking off festivities for the annual Oktoberfest at the always-awesome Rejects Beer Co on Saturday, October 5:
We had a blast at last year’s Oktoberfest, which also featured a, uhh, very special guest:
Honestly it was kind of weird but the guy was 1000% committed to the bit. For better, or for worse.
See ya at the show!
